Lead Educator Wanted at Catholic College

A visionary leader is sought to join Catherine McAuley Catholic College in Medowie as Principal, a role that involves fostering an environment where faith, purpose, fulfillment, and joy thrive.

The college operates with a leadership model that includes one Principal, one Assistant Principal, and three Heads of House. Our educators work together to create engaging learning environments that promote quality educational experiences and outcomes for all students.

  • Develop and implement a shared vision focused on providing exceptional educational experiences and achieving high standards for student learning and teacher practice
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and all stakeholders through effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Support and monitor the growth and development of effective teachers, promoting their professional capabilities
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance, driving continuous improvement and excellence
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Practising Catholic active in the life of a Eucharistic community, with an understanding of their baptismal call to share and witness the good news of Jesus Christ
  • Articulate and develop a shared improvement agenda that aligns with system priorities and embeds evidence-based practices for enhanced student learning and teacher development
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, families, and all stakeholders
  • Effective analysis and response to student data on Catholic identity, academic performance, behaviour, and wellbeing to drive improved learning outcomes
  • Optimisation of human, financial, and physical resources to deliver high-quality organisational and educational results
  • Understanding of relevant legislative and legal frameworks, including equity and diversity, work health and safety, and performance management principles, to inform decision-making and policy implementation
Key Qualifications:
  • Four-year trained Teacher/Master of Education qualification or equivalent experience as a Teacher within the system
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Religious Education, Theological Studies, or a willingness to pursue these qualifications within four years of appointment
  • Current NESA Accreditation
  • Paid NSW Working with Children Check number
  • Anaphylaxis training completion
