Pool Lifeguard

We are seeking a Pool Lifeguard to join our team. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons by actively surveilling the pool area and responding promptly to emergencies.

  • Your primary responsibility will be to prevent accidents from occurring in the first place by maintaining a visible presence at all times.
  • You will also be required to administer first aid as necessary and respond to emergency situations such as drownings or other aquatic-related incidents.
Requirements
  • A current First Aid Certificate is essential, as well as a current Pool Lifeguard Licence.
  • You must be able to communicate effectively with pool patrons and staff, providing clear instructions and assistance as needed.
  • Previous experience in a lifeguarding role is highly desirable.
Benefits
  • This is a casual position, meaning you will work on an as-needs basis.
  • The rate of pay is $36.61 gross per hour + superannuation (12%).

Please note that rates of pay for all employees aged between 15-18 years of age are paid in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, Clause 32. Junior and Trainee Employment. For further information, please see Council's Junior Rates of Pay Fact Sheet.
