We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Traffic and Transport team in delivering traffic management services for Melton City Council. As a key member of our Engineering and Asset Services unit, you will provide functional leadership and manage the activities of the team to ensure traffic, road safety, and transport management issues are addressed in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the Traffic and Transport Team.
- Investigate customer requests and develop and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practice, Council policy, and budgetary requirements.
- Coordinate Traffic and Transport investigations, prepare recommendations, and reports for Executive and Council consideration.
- Liaise with Government departments, including Vic Roads, Transport for Victoria, Public Transport Victoria, Emergency Services, Police, and other statutory authorities and organizations in relation to traffic and transportation matters.
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise or in management. You will also have demonstrated experience in delivering a range of traffic and transport engineering projects from concept stage to approved project, including stakeholder consultation. Additionally, you will have experience in the application of computer software programs, including the Microsoft Office suite, Autocad, GIS systems, and traffic modeling software. A current valid Victorian Driver's Licence is also required.
