Renewable Energy Project Manager

Bradman Renewable Energy & Carbon Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Planning & Environmental Manager to join their team.
About the RoleThis is a newly created position in Sydney, and the successful candidate will lead environmental initiatives in renewable energy projects, specializing in standalone BESS and hybrid Solar Farms. The role involves overseeing the permitting process, managing external consultants, and ensuring regulatory approvals and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Approvals: Oversee the permitting process, including applications for local, state, and Commonwealth environmental permits;
- Managing External Planning & Enviro Consultants: Manage, review outputs, and prioritize external consultants to achieve best-for-project outcomes to ready-to-build status;
- Environmental Impact Assessments: Address potential impacts and propose effective mitigation measures;
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate positive relationships with local communities, address concerns, and ensure transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle;
- Environmental Referrals: Lead and manage the preparation of environmental referral documentation for submission to regulatory bodies;
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans for projects, integrating environmental considerations into every phase.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or related field;
- Extensive experience in managing planning and environmental aspects of renewable energy projects in Australia;
- In-depth knowledge of state and Commonwealth environmental regulations and the environmental referral process;
- Strong understanding of the Australian environmental impact assessment framework.
