Job Title

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing high-quality monthly and annual financial reports on time
  • Ensuring the integrity of our general ledger, including debtors, creditors, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Liaising with external auditors and providing clear and accurate responses to queries
  • Implementing improvements to our reporting systems to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing a high-performing accounting team
  • Supporting the development of policies, systems, and procedures across the district
Requirements
  • CA or CPA qualification and relevant tertiary education in accounting/finance
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and ongoing professional development
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and accounting services
  • Proven ability to manage teams, foster collaboration, and deliver continuous improvements
  • Compliance skills with the ability to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks
  • Proactive, customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • High-level analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and financial management information systems
