Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Sydney or Melbourne office. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the technical environment that underlies business intelligence, reporting, and enterprise data integration capabilities for Nous projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project teams on data and analysis, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights and recommendations.
  • Architect and implement technical improvements to client BI environments, leveraging Azure cloud database services and Microsoft-compatible data warehousing and business intelligence applications.
  • Advise on data governance, availability of service, and integrity in data, ensuring compliance with Nous' data management policies.
  • Design and implement future data set integrations, collaborating with business areas to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Become an expert in Nous' data structures and KPI metrics, as well as common client systems, to provide informed guidance and support.
  • Develop and publish detailed architectural and procedural documentation for core data capabilities and functions, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide expert support to project teams and data analysts, resolving data warehouse issues affecting reports and building/maintaining reports.
  • Perform in-depth analysis to establish root causes of problems and manage issues resolution for clients, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Manage client-oriented data asset management, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with Nous consulting staff to build, optimize, and operate relevant analytical systems, including data lakes, pipelines, and ML models.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft BI technologies, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI.
  • 3+ years of technical experience in Microsoft and Microsoft-compatible data warehousing and business intelligence applications.
  • Experience in Azure cloud database services, including data storage, warehousing, processing, and ETL.
  • Experience with R or Python, or willingness to learn and work with R and Python as a component of data pipelines.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Experience in Salesforce, particularly data structures and integration, is highly regarded.
