Production Plant Operator Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of cement-based products, is seeking a skilled Production Plant Operator to join their team. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the automated blending plant and packaging line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all safety protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate the automated blending plant and packaging line, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Set up machinery, optimize outputs, and oversee critical control points to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Address breakdowns promptly to maintain equipment availability and minimize production losses.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including minor repairs and adjustments on the batching and packaging line, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company standards.
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to prepare raw materials for production and unload palletized finished goods.
  • Rotate and relieve in all areas of production and warehousing as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience working in a production environment, preferably in the cement industry.
  • Commitment to safety and a positive contribution to the company's WHS culture.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a strong desire for continuous improvement.
  • Possess a great attitude, with self-drive, strong attendance, and a hard work ethic.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to problem-solve using logic and reasoning to identify solutions.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with a willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Proficient understanding of computer systems for operating and monitoring the manufacturing process.
  • Physically fit and hands-on, with a current forklift LF license or willingness to obtain one.
