Job Overview



The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team as EL1 Assistant Directors and APS6 Senior Officers in the Governance and Reporting branch. This role involves providing strategic support to our leadership team, coordinating governance and reporting activities, and contributing to the development of business plans.



About the Role




  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team that plays a critical role in supporting the ACIC's priorities, operational goals, and legislative requirements.
  • You will provide high-level support to external committees, coordinate key documentation, and facilitate informed decision-making within the agency.
  • As part of this team, you will work closely with stakeholders across the agency, Ministerial and Governance Team, Executive Branch, and partner agencies.


Key Responsibilities




  • Lead and manage a small team who provide high-level support to Intelligence Group committees, including the management, coordination, and preparation of agenda and papers.
  • Oversight, quality assurance, and support Intelligence Group ministerial submissions and correspondence to the Attorney-General's Office.
  • Coordinate the Intelligence Group's participation in Parliamentary committees and hearings and responses to Government inquiries.
  • Leading a team to develop strategic plans, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in law, public administration, or a related field, and significant experience working in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in tight timeframes, managing competing priorities, and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of governance principles, risk management frameworks, and regulatory environments.
