Pipeline Operator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining gas facilities and pipelines, working on state-of-the-art equipment.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Completing planned and corrective maintenance activities on assets such as Trunk Receiving Stations, Package Offtake Stations, Primary Receiving Stations, Transmission Pipelines, Distribution Network, Renewable Energy Assets, and Compressor Stations.
  • Undertaking maintenance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with Asset Management and Engineering teams.
  • Performing a wide variety of pipeline duties, including mechanical work, documentation, and records maintenance.
  • Establishing and maintaining a safe worksite, complying with all OHS&E requirements.
  • Responding to gas-related incidents and emergencies.
  • Intrastate travel and participation in rotating on-call rosters.

Requirements include:

  • A trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting.
  • Proven experience working as a member of an Operations and Maintenance team in the gas transmission or gas processing industry.
  • High pressure gas and gas processing experience.
  • Reciprocating/Screw Compressor operation and maintenance.
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A team player with a strong focus on safety and a can-do attitude.
