Operational Risk Specialist - Equity Derivatives Trading

As an Operational Risk Specialist in our Commodities and Global Markets Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and monitoring of key operational risks across our global business.

With 12+ years of experience in non-financial risk management supporting equity derivatives trading businesses, you will partner with our trading desks and support groups to develop a comprehensive knowledge of all processes and proactively manage operational risks.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice on end-to-end risks and controls environment, supporting and facilitating the continued improvement of processes, controls, and operational risk awareness and culture across our businesses.

As a subject matter expert, you will leverage your expertise to develop a broad range of risk matters, assess new product and business initiatives, investigate incidents, and test the effectiveness of controls.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice on operational risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Developing and implementing risk management frameworks and procedures
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational risk exposures
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation plans
  • Monitoring and reporting on operational risk performance

Requirements:

12+ years of work experience in non-financial risk management supporting equity derivatives trading businesses

Previous experience in trading, compliance, and surveillance aligned to trading will also be considered

High achievement drive, with strong resilience and tenacity

A continuous improvement mindset and comfort in interpreting and balancing commercial issues within a risk framework

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with senior business and risk colleagues to drive, challenge, and influence, as well as lead conversations regarding anticipated and emerging issues
