Aboriginal Trainee Environmental Health Officer


About the Role


This is a unique opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to join our dynamic Environment & Health team as a trainee Environmental Health Officer. You will embark on a six-year traineeship, balancing work and study, while gaining valuable skills and experience.


Key Responsibilities


As the Aboriginal Trainee Environmental Health Officer, you will:


• Inspect swimming pools, food, skin penetration, and other businesses


• Respond to enquiries and investigate complaints


• Sample water and undertake mosquito monitoring


• Educate people to protect health and the environment


Eligibility Criteria


To be eligible for this traineeship, you must:


• Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent and identity


• Be able to successfully enrol in the Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University


• Hold a current Class C Driver's Licence
