Job Overview

The Electrical Technician role involves carrying out electrical works of maintenance, improvement or construction nature within council buildings. The ideal candidate will have a recognised electrical trade certificate and current electricians licence, along with minimum three years post-trade experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical installations and systems require regular maintenance and repair. As an Electrical Technician, you will undertake duties associated with these tasks.
  • You will be responsible for the electrical tagging of council's electrical appliances and equipment.
  • Liaising with other sections of council and the public on matters relative to electrical works is a key aspect of this role.
  • Be prepared to undertake emergency and breakdown work outside normal working hours.
Requirements
  • A recognised Electrical Trade Certificate is essential.
  • Current qualified Electricians Licence is also required.
  • Minimum of three years post-trade experience is necessary.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and Risk Management requirements is crucial.
  • A Class C Drivers Licence is preferred.
  • Through working knowledge of statutory and legal requirements relative to the electrical industry is essential.

Preferred applicants will undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screening and functional assessment.
