Specialist Psychiatrist Job Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Psychiatrists to provide high-quality patient-centred care across diverse communities in Far North Queensland.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering comprehensive mental health care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and developing treatment plans that cater to individual needs.

The region services a population of approximately 275,000 people, including a significant proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient-centred care across diverse communities
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mental health care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that cater to individual needs
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements:
  • Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or international equivalent
  • Eligibility for AHPRA Specialist Registration in Psychiatry
  • Expertise in any subspecialty, with priority given to Child & Youth Psychiatry and Rural/Remote Mental Health
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care across diverse communities
