The Mental Health Clinician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services to individuals in custody.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential harm to self or others, and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Provide education and support to individuals regarding mental health conditions, symptoms, and treatment options.
- Deliver tailored interventions aimed at developing coping skills and building resilience, including individual and group-based programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic classification systems, and clinical assessment tools to inform practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent risk assessments and develop corresponding plans.
- Develop and deliver psychoeducation programs related to mental health.
- Implement skill acquisition-focused interventions to promote coping skills and resilience.
- Collaborate with colleagues and individuals in custody to provide comprehensive support.
