This leadership position oversees the efficient and safe loading of freight for a major contract. As Operations Supervisor, you will lead a high-performing team to ensure trailers are loaded correctly, fully manifested, and ready for departures within a 7 days on / 7 days off roster.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring adherence to safety systems, legislative obligations, and customer requirements
- Lead and supervise loading teams to achieve freight dispatch KPIs, maximise payloads, and meet accuracy and compliance standards
- Oversee trailer allocation and utilise fleet resources efficiently in coordination with the transport team
- Maintain strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and DG handling requirements
- Foster team capability through training, coaching, and recognition of safe behaviour
- Provide clear handovers to back-to-back supervisors and operations management for seamless 24/7 operations
- Drive continuous improvement in loading processes, load planning, and the use of warehouse systems
We seek an experienced operator with strong leadership skills and hands-on experience in freight loading, warehouse, or transport operations. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, prioritises operational accuracy, and has confidence in leading teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers and contractors.
- Solid supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations
- High-level understanding of load restraint, mass/dimensional compliance, DG handling, and Chain of Responsibility
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in staff training, coaching, and performance management
- Ability to build a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
- SAP or warehouse system experience is desirable
