About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Team Lead to join our dynamic team at Samworth Brothers. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our food manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all quality assurance activities for the shift, ensuring seamless communication with production, hygiene, and engineering teams.
  • Liaise with QA and Technical Manager to identify trends and ongoing issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead a small team of QAs during the shift, providing guidance and support to ensure effective quality control.
  • Manage staff discipline, work performance, and absence issues, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Responsible for rejecting non-conforming product and communicating with relevant managers and stock control.
  • Ensure all non-conformances and issues raised by the team are followed up with satisfactory corrective action.
Requirements:
  • Advanced food hygiene certification; a degree in a relevant subject is an advantage but not essential.
  • RIPH level 2 or equivalent Intermediate Certificate in Applied HACCP Principles is desirable.
  • Experience in a technical role within food manufacturing, preferably chilled but not essential.
  • Good IT knowledge and competent in written English and Maths.
