Job Description

Role Status: Full-Time Term

Remuneration: AHP2 ($88,255 - $102,240 p.a. +11.5% Superannuation) / PO2 ($88,255 - $97,667 p.a. +11.5% Superannuation)

The Department for Child Protection is currently seeking a highly skilled professional to join the Inner North office on a full-time term basis.

This role is responsible for:

  • Conducting complex investigations and assessments in a child-centred manner, focused on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the child and supporting the parent/family to effectively care for their child.
  • Developing and implementing safety plans to prevent harm and promote positive outcomes for children.
  • Providing written and verbal reports that are concise, informative, and based on thorough analysis of evidence gathered.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including families, schools, and other community agencies, to achieve positive outcomes for children.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, organised, and experienced professional who has a strong understanding of child development, parenting, and family dynamics.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

A key requirement for this role is the ability to work in a culturally sensitive and inclusive manner, with a deep understanding of the needs and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

AHP: A degree level qualification in Social Work or a related field, with eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

PO: An appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health, or a related field.
