The Opportunity
We're looking for a Junior QA Automation Engineer to join our agile R&D team.
This role offers a unique blend of automation, manual testing and technical support responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain automated test cases for APIs, web and mobile apps.
- Collaborate with developers to embed testing into the development lifecycle.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing in early-stage or complex scenarios.
- Log issues clearly, assist with triage and follow through on resolutions.
- Identify areas for automation and recommend smart approaches.
- Handle escalated technical issues from support, investigating root causes.
- Analyse logs, behaviour and systems to support issue resolution.
- Partner across QA, development and product teams globally.
- Stay up to date with modern test tools and automation practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 1–3 years' experience in software testing, with exposure to test automation.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar.
- Ability to write basic SQL queries to validate data.
- Experience using Git and CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Understanding of web technologies, networking basics and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- A curious mindset and a drive to improve through automation and learning.
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Success Measures:
Impact on product quality, speed of feedback and contribution to overall team efficiency.
This includes building and maintaining reliable automated test coverage for critical workflows across APIs, web and mobile.
Reducing manual testing effort and catching defects early in the development cycle.
Fast, stable and accurate automation feedback in CI/CD pipelines will be key, as will clear and actionable defect reporting.
Investigation and resolution of complex 3rd-level technical issues, perform thorough root cause analyses and contribute to long-term fixes that prevent repeat problems.
Proactive identification of test gaps, process improvements and collaboration with developers on early-stage quality practices will be valued.
Ongoing learning, adoption of new tools and knowledge-sharing will round out success, helping to embed best practices and strengthen our automation-first QA culture.
