Job Overview

The Hexagon Autonomous Solution is comprised of three divisions: Agriculture, Autonomy & Positioning, and Mining. This team provides perception, positioning, vehicle autonomy, and site orchestration technologies for various sectors.

Your Role

As a Field Support Engineer, you will oversee the integration and commissioning of autonomous hardware. You will collaborate with development and deployment teams and clients to assist in transitioning to deployment of the AHS integrated solution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Integrate, debug, and commission drive-by-wire and autonomy hardware.
  • In-production facility and in-field, FIFO, deploy and test autonomous vehicle software and dynamic controls.
  • Perform test execution for new firmware, software, or hardware.
  • Deploy software on embedded Linux controllers.
  • Develop test plans and schedules.
  • Develop test instructions for vehicle operators.
  • Regularly report and discuss issues with NPI development teams to debug problems and provide product improvement suggestions.
  • Analyze, coordinate, and perform failure analysis activities to identify root cause of customer reported issues.
  • Act independently with minimal supervision to conduct data collection and complete required vehicle performance tests.
  • Contribute to customer documentation and training material for various software applications.
  • Assist customers with configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate has experience in developing and applying AHS solutions for mine site operations. They should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or trade certification in electrical, auto electrician, or mechanical with field-based experience working with AHS/OEM machinery within mining or heavy industry.

Apart from the qualifications mentioned above, desirable skills include experience in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and testing in a testing/application environment within AHS or autonomous application within mining operations. Additionally, knowledge of Vector CANape, CANalyzer, CAN hardware tools, CAN bus communication and diagnostics, and data acquisition equipment would be beneficial.
