Job Title: Kitchen Attendant Grade 1

The role of the Kitchen Attendant Grade 1 is to maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the kitchen. This includes cleaning dishes, utensils, and equipment, handling chemicals safely, operating dishwashing equipment, moving catering equipment, lifting heavy items, and disposing of waste.

The availability required for this role is three to five shifts per week. Shift patterns are typically between 7 AM and 3 PM or 3 PM and 10 PM.

  • Ensure the kitchen, food preparation & scullery areas are a clean and hygienic work environment">
  • Clean dishes, utensils and equipment">
  • Handle and use chemicals safely">
  • Operate dishwashing equipment & move catering equipment">
  • Lifting of heavy items & dispose of waste">
  • Deep clean kitchens & perform duties to a high standard">

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen stewarding or cleaning role (highly regarded)">
  • Previous experience using commercial dishwashers advantageous">
  • General knowledge of catering equipment, cleaning and hygiene procedures">
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment">
  • Excellent communication skills, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn">
  • Ability to take direction, follow instructions, or work independently, showing initiative">
  • Capacity to perform physical tasks safely, including lifting up to 20kgs, repetitive manual tasks, and working at height">
