Job Summary

The JETMAX division is one of Flight Centre Travel Group's fastest growing business units, comprising of BYOjet.com, Aunt Betty.com.au and Student Universe.

This role provides a great opportunity to partner with the business leaders and further develop your financial and business skills. The JETMAX division is focused on growing globally in all Flight Centre Travel Group markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support to the JETMAX Leadership team, specifically the General Manager of the business.
  • Ensure the financial well-being and stability of BYOjet and Aunt Betty, addressing financial control, data integrity and the management of multiple overseas accounts.
  • Lead the transition of the Student Universe brand onto the Jetmax financial systems.
  • Focus on growth, with cost management across the three brands through scalability strategies and looking at both the enhancement of existing revenue sources and search for new revenue sources.
  • Play a key role in forecasting and assisting in driving results. Manage a team of young financial professionals, ensuring strategic direction is followed and achieved.
  • Manage critical relationships with internal discipline leaders and Flight Centre Travel Group expert teams.
  • To be successful in this role, you will need to have been previously successful in a financial leadership position and have excellent communication skills.

Accountabilities

Financial Control, Risk Mitigation & Data Integrity

  • Ensure internal and external audit requirements are met with no surprises.
  • Ensure the Balance Sheet is true and accurately reported.
  • Ensure a strong culture of financial control within the team.
  • Responsible for all required Head Office reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with management and Flight Centre Travel Group finance experts to ensure business risks are mitigated.
  • Ensure data integrity exists in all aspects of financial transactions.
  • Ensure financial controls and relevant checks are observed in this high-volume environment with multi-currency businesses.

Commercial Support and Business Partnering

  • Assist the General Manager with commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Identify, recommend and implement revenue opportunities for the business.
  • Ability to voice concerns/opinions to allow for robust discussions about business strategy.
  • Perform ongoing financial modelling around opportunities and forecasts for growing the business.
  • Identify process efficiencies in all disciplines of the business and aid in implementing solutions while working with the business leaders.

Finance Lead for Brand Migration

  • Finance lead within our project team, ensuring delivery of requirements and expectations.
  • Developing and managing project plans.
  • Managing all aspects of project execution, in alignment with approved project plans and strategic business goals.

Requirements

  • 5 years plus experience required in a financial leadership role.
  • Previous experience with systems implementation highly desirable.
  • Experience in, or passion for, a fast-moving business is also desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a finance-related role.
  • CA or CPA essential with a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Economics or Finance.
