We are seeking passionate and qualified English educators to join our team of dedicated professionals in the ACT Public Schools. As a Secondary English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a Secondary English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in years 7 to 10, and potentially years 11 and 12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students in years 7 to 10, and potentially years 11 and 12.
  • Develop and implement curriculum programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Assess and provide feedback to students on their progress and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in English Education or a related field.
  • Proven teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to teach across a broad age and ability range.
  • Knowledge and successful application of the Australian Curriculum and outcomes-based learning.
  • Positive classroom management skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proven experience establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
