Make a Difference in Defence Healthcare

Serco is a leading provider of healthcare services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF), and we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Officer to join our team.

About the Role

As a Medical Officer, you will be responsible for delivering primary medical care to ADF personnel in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies and procedures.

You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working towards the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary medical care to ADF personnel in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies and procedures.
  • Form part of a multidisciplinary team working towards the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager, and Commanders of units.

Requirements

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted General registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years' full-time postgraduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
