Job Title: Wildlife Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wildlife Management Specialist to join our team at our Proserpine prawn farm. As a key member of our aquaculture operations, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our stock by managing predatory wildlife.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for safely and responsibly operating firearms and animal trapping devices, prioritising environmental protection and minimising risks to personnel, equipment, and stock.
  • Conduct regular pond inspections, monitoring prawn health, water quality, and potential contaminants.
  • Report and escalate significant wildlife threats to the relevant team members.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit weekly reports on wildlife activity and control measures.
  • Assist with additional farm duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Current and valid firearms and animal trapping licences (essential).
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Basic tech proficiency (iPad use for reporting).
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Legal right to work in Australia.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check (required prior to appointment).
