Wildlife Management Specialist

Job Overview:

As a Wildlife Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our stock by managing predatory wildlife. You will be responsible for safely and responsibly operating firearms and animal trapping devices to protect our stock while prioritising environmental protection and minimising risks to personnel, equipment, and stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wildlife Control: Safely manage and control wildlife populations to prevent them from causing damage to our stock.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular pond inspections to monitor prawn health, water quality, and potential contaminants. Report and escalate significant wildlife threats to the relevant team members.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and submit weekly reports on wildlife activity and control measures.
  • Additional Farm Duties: Assist with additional farm duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Current Licenses: Current and valid firearms and animal trapping licences (essential).
  • Valid Driver's Licence: Valid driver's licence.
  • Basic Tech Proficiency: Basic tech proficiency (iPad use for reporting).
  • Positive Attitude: Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Legal Right to Work: Legal right to work in Australia.
  • National Police Check: Satisfactory National Police Check (required prior to appointment).
