About the Role

Criminal Investigation Officers at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) play a vital role in addressing deliberate, systemic, or complex behaviours that threaten the integrity of the Taxation and Superannuation systems.

As a Criminal Investigation Officer, you will be responsible for investigating complex fraud offences to a criminal standard of proof, assessing and gathering information, and preparing comprehensive briefs of evidence.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor and guide others, and develop your skills in planning and leading fraud investigations, evidence gathering, and evidence management.

Requirements

  • Experience in planning and leading fraud investigations
