Role Overview

Opportunity exists for a Field Officer to work in the Blue Mountains Branch, assisting with diverse activities relating to park maintenance and improvement.

This Aboriginal Identified role requires strong attention to detail and safety, as well as the ability to lead operations and solve problems in the field.

Travel may be required to fulfil program needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with park asset maintenance and improvement.
  • Contribute to bushfire fuel reduction activities and participate in prescribed fire and suppression functions as needed.
Requirements
  • Aboriginal descent through parentage or identification as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people and government organisations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultural issues.
  • Current Australian Class C Drivers licence and ability to drive 4wd vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain MR Licence where appropriate.
  • SafeWork NSW certification to operate plant and equipment.
