We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Operations Manager to join our team at Quicksilver Group in Cairns.

About the Role:

This is a key leadership position that requires strong operational management skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. As a Marine Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our marine division, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation, and promoting a culture of safety and innovation within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Develop and implement effective strategies to maximise fleet efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals to achieve exceptional results, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure their success.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with senior management to develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures, identifying opportunities to improve financial sustainability.
  • Safety Management: Oversee Vessel Safety Management Systems, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, and coordinating safety inspections, risk assessments, and training programs.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Experience in marine operations, leadership, and management, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • USL Master Class 5 skippers ticket or higher.
  • PADI Divemaster qualification or higher.
  • Marine Engine Driver (MED) II ticket or similar.
