About the Role

The Senior Planning Officer position at Cairns Regional Council is a key role in the Development and Planning Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking the assessment of significant and complex development applications in the growing Cairns Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical leadership to the Development Assessment team
  • Fostering a supportive and positive workplace culture and team environment
  • Coordinating and delivering continuous business and process improvement opportunities

Requirements:

  • Graduate or post graduate qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised university or other tertiary education institution, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated substantial planning and development experience in a Local Government or similar
  • Current 'C' Class Drivers Licence to attend offsite meetings and inspections
