From supplying clean drinking water to maintaining the city's waterways, we work tirelessly behind the scenes to support the lives of millions of Melburnians.
About the RoleThis part-time position (0.8 FTE) is based at our Docklands Head Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and improving Melbourne's waterways, catchments, drainage, and land assets.
Your primary focus will be on delivering meaningful projects that make a real difference to the environment and community while ensuring our commitments to flood protection and drainage function in the Upper Merri Ck and Maribyrnong catchments are maintained.
You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including local governments, community groups, and Indigenous organizations, to develop impactful programs and initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships with Traditional Owners to enhance opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Analyze complex water management situations and adapt approaches as needed.
- Prior experience in waterway, catchment, drainage, and land asset management, natural resource management, waterway planning, and rehabilitation practices, as well as statutory planning processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various audiences, including internal teams, external partners, and the general public.
- Proven project management skills, including supervising consultants.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and resilience.
- Tertiary degree in environmental management, science, or engineering, or relevant experience.
- Valid Victorian Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record check.
