Factory Operations Controller

The Factory Operations Controller is a critical role within the factory leadership team, responsible for providing visibility around costs related to factory processes. This individual will drive relevant analysis and reporting, ensuring adherence to financial legal requirements and NAS.

A day in the life of this role involves:

  • Continually seeking cost improvements in the factory by presenting and prioritizing cost improvement opportunities.
  • Validating and reviewing projects constantly to ensure completion and realization of savings.
  • Understanding key factory cost drivers and the link to factory variances and SAP reports in order to prioritize cost improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinating reporting of actual costs: timeliness and accuracy of input data for Period-end Close (PEC); ensuring external and internal financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards are followed.
  • Providing early warning to stakeholders in case of major cost deviations.
  • Participating in business planning: coordinating, challenging and preparing the input assumptions for the Standard Cost Budget (SCB) and Dynamic Forecast (DF).
  • Developing, controlling and ensuring robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests.
  • Being the audit and compliance 'champion' at the factory and being the key contact for internal and external audits.
  • Ensuring clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation and compliance with internal controls.
  • Caching and developing the factory finance personnel as individuals and as a team, including career and succession planning.
  • Promoting clear understanding of financial key figures and costing within the factory, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists.

  • You will be degree qualified in Finance and have 5+ years' experience with understanding of key commercial financial areas, including costing, distribution/supply chain and decision support.
  • You will have manufacturing costing experience, ideally within a factory or supply chain environment.
  • CA/CPA qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • You will have understanding of FMCG industry; excellent Excel, SAP, reporting tools knowledge essential and knowledge of Power BI will be an advantage.
  • You will have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • You will have ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
