Senior Risk Management Officer

Randstad is partnering with a government agency to find an experienced risk management specialist who can make a positive difference in the lives of South Australian children and young people.

This role offers a unique opportunity for an individual with strong governance skills and experience in risk management to join a dynamic team responsible for overseeing key functions to support the agency in identifying, managing, and reporting risks effectively.

The ideal candidate will be accountable to the Manager, Office of the Chief Executive and have the following key responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement a comprehensive Risk Management Framework, Risk Registers, Internal Audit Plans, Policies, Procedures, and Systems
  • Lead the development and implementation of the agency's Risk Strategy
  • Train and develop staff in supporting the Risk Management Framework and facilitating the upskilling of Risk and Control Owners
  • Develop and guide key managers in the identification and assessment of risks and application of internal controls and how to map compliance obligations
  • Oversee and develop internal controls to identify, manage, and mitigate risks and ensure ongoing compliance obligations
  • Develop the Audit and Risk data governance framework and data strategy and support the Audit and Risk Committee in its governance and oversight

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in governance functions related to risk, audit, and internal control environments
  • A proven ability to undertake complex projects, including research, analysis, and determining effective methods and strategies for successful outcomes
  • High-level experience working with senior executives and management, with the ability to collaborate and support the agency and committee
