Job Overview

This dynamic role sees you working in a fast-paced environment, dedicated to delivering exceptional client-centric services across Queensland.

You will be responsible for handling emergency situations with poise and professionalism, utilizing effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

The successful candidate will have the ability to apply the Queensland Police Service's demand management framework to request police resource allocation efficiently.

In addition, you will be required to accurately relay data using voice communications equipment in time-sensitive situations.

Your analytical skills will also be essential in researching police data management systems to gather relevant information on persons, vehicles, and places of interest.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for assessing incidents, updating them with critical information, and liaising with other service providers to allocate resources as needed by operational police.

Maintaining information security policies and procedures is crucial in ensuring confidential and accurate information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage emergency calls using negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Apply the QLD Police Service's demand management framework (SOLVE) for resource allocation.
  • Accurately relay data using voice comms in time-critical scenarios.
  • Research police data systems for relevant info on persons, vehicles, and places.
  • Assess incidents, updating with relevant time-critical info.
  • Liaise with other service providers for resource allocation.
  • Maintain information security policies and procedures.
Requirements:Mandatory
  • Successfully complete a Communications Operator Training Program (6 months).
  • Participate in a 24/7 roster with 36.25 hours/week.
  • Undergo alcohol and drug testing according to Service policy.
  • Provide a recent keyboard skills certificate (40 wpm, 98% accuracy).
  • Undergo typing, call taker simulation, and cognitive ability assessments.
  • Complete a psychological assessment.
  • Provide an approved PEMS hearing test.
