Job Title

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Science Department Head to join our team. As the leader of the Science Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide inspirational leadership and management of the Science Department, including curriculum planning, resource development, and staff coordination
  • Teach a range of Science subjects at the secondary level, fostering students' curiosity and critical thinking skills
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and assessment methods
  • Monitor student progress and achievement, and provide targeted support and guidance to ensure their success
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school through participation in extracurricular activities and school events

Key Qualifications

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and registration with the relevant authorities
  • Extensive experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a department and mentor teaching staff
  • A passion for Science and a commitment to inspiring students to explore and understand the natural world
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
