Job Title: Chief Safety Officer

This challenging role involves ensuring the airworthiness, safety, capability, availability, reliability, maintainability, mission success, and life cycle costs goals are met for aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement system safety engineering and system safety program management in support of aircraft requirements.
  • Investigate aircraft system deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions within the system safety remit.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance system safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks with effective reporting and communication of status.
  • Prepare technical reports as required.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of improvement activities.
About You:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace/Aeronautical) or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to obtain Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) registration.
  • Chartered Professional Engineering status through Engineers Australia is desired.
  • Capable of attaining NV-1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Professional Engineer in the aviation industry.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Performance, people leadership, and customer interface skills/experience.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, airworthiness regulation, and certification concepts.
