Strategic Analyst Role

We are seeking highly motivated and collaborative Strategic Analysts to contribute to our strategic goals.

This role is part of a fully integrated civilian-military workforce that draws on high-quality and motivated people from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines who embody Defence and Australian Public Service values.

  • The successful candidate will lead a team that strengthens Australia's national security and economic resilience by using analytical skills to inform military and dual-use export decisions, Defence inputs to Foreign Investment decisions, or other strategically-important decisions within regulatory frameworks.
  • Analyse data to inform key policy decisions, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Brief senior leadership on key issues, providing informed advice and recommendations.
  • Consult with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Contribute to corporate transformational change initiatives, driving innovation and improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team to strengthen Australia's national security and economic resilience.
  2. Analyse data to inform military and dual-use export decisions.
  3. Brief Defence's Senior Leadership on key issues.
  4. Consult with other government agencies and stakeholders.
