The primary goal of the Hospital Head of Department is to oversee clinical services within the hospital ensuring top-notch patient care and efficient resource utilization. This role demands strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate, monitor, and maintain clinical services within the department to meet set standards.
- Comply with hospital policies, guidelines, plans, and programs at all times.
- Function as a consultant physician performing duties effectively.
- Assume full responsibility for patients under medical care in assigned units.
- Conduct rounds regularly, supervise inpatient treatment, and examine outpatients on a regular basis.
- Supervise medical staff within the unit and report activities to the department head or chairman.
- Participate actively in committees focused on enhancing services and organizing work within and outside the hospital.
- Contribute significantly to planning and implementing departmental development and staff training programs.
- Engage in medical education and research activities promoting excellence.
- Perform interventions relevant to the specialization.
- Participate in health education programs including orientation and scientific presentations.
- Share responsibilities for scheduling on-call duties and providing on-call services.
- Evaluate and update drug, medical supply, and equipment needs to ensure optimal performance.
