Technical Specialist for Histology Services

The role of Senior Technical Officer in Microscopy and Histology is multifaceted, encompassing the supervision of daily operations and maintenance of histology, immunohistochemistry, and histochemistry services.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of histology, immunohistochemistry, and histochemistry facilities
- Manage equipment inventory, provide user training, and offer technical support to researchers and students
- Contribute to developing and implementing Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures, and undertake administrative tasks such as record-keeping and invoicing
- Proven proficiency in routine histology, histochemistry, and immunohistochemistry techniques
- Demonstrated expertise in brightfield, fluorescence, and confocal microscopy methods
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
- High-level problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach and sound judgment
This position requires an individual who can multitask, work independently, and collaboratively as part of a team. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
