Australian Government Training Officer for Emergency Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training Officer for Emergency Management to join our team at the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, and delivering vocational training programs for internal and external staff. This includes supporting section staff, identifying and researching training needs, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with the coordination and delivery of external and internal training.
The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage relationships and stakeholders, and a strong understanding of vocational training within the public service. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deal with sensitive information, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with digital learning platforms.
Responsibilities- Support section staff to design, develop, deliver, and coordinate vocational training programs
- Identify and research training, learning, and development issues and solutions
- Maintain accurate and timely records in relevant systems and training documents
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of external and internal training
- Develop and maintain training materials, including session plans, manuals, guidelines, handouts, and eLearning courses
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships, stakeholders, and outcomes
- Understanding of vocational training and its application within the public service
- Able to deal with sensitive or confronting information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarisation with digital learning platforms
- Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set qualification or ability to acquire it quickly
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
