About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Policy Officer to join our Financial Management Branch. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the establishment of legislative authority for Commonwealth expenditure through amendments to the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Regulations 1997 (FFSP Regulations).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to the FFSP legislative framework.
  • Assist in preparing a range of written material, including supporting documents for the development of legislation, Ministerial submissions, and correspondence.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and quality assurance using a wide range of sources to provide an evidence base for decision making.
  • Prioritize own work and manage stakeholder expectations on urgent and critical matters against tight timeframes.

What We Offer

As a Policy Officer in our Financial Management Branch, you will have the opportunity to develop and grow your skills in relation to the Australian Constitution and provision of legislative authority through the FFSP Regulations. You will also have the chance to work on high-priority projects and contribute to the development of legislation and policy.

Eligibility and Security Clearance

Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing. Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold, the required security clearance level for the role.
