About the Role
The APS is seeking a Governance Coordination Officer to lead the development and maintenance of the Governance Framework. This role requires strong project management skills, with the ability to apply methodologies to administrative and technical activities. The successful candidate will research, draft, and prepare briefs, complex correspondence, and reports, including submissions for committee consideration.
About Our Team
SPACECOMD is a multidisciplinary workforce across Navy, Army, Air Force, Australian Public Service, and industry. The team is responsible for preparing space power to secure Australia's interests in peace and war.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyse activities to identify and address Governance framework gaps and risks to capability.
- Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of Governance and frameworks in accordance with legislation and Defence policies.
- Provide advice on the application of Governance within legislation and Defence policies and procedures.
- Plan, organise, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Manage complex work packages in compressed timeframes.
- Engage with stakeholders to build and maintain positive relationships.
Requirements
- Strong planning and time management skills, particularly prioritisation and critical thinking.
- Judgement and a bias for action in driving outcomes, including problem solving and flexibility.
- Financial and contracting experience.
- Skillful communicator (both written and verbal).
