Strategic Programme Manager, Comprehensive Care and Safety

Job Description:

This is a key leadership role that will work in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer to manage the delivery of comprehensive care and communicating for safety work programmes.

The programme manager will provide strategic direction by planning, managing and coordinating the development of these work programmes. This includes implementing the agreed work plan of the Commission and other complementary activities required to meet overall responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop strategies, standards and tools to improve safety and quality across the continuum of care relating to comprehensive care and communicating for safety standards.
  2. Engage healthcare organisations and clinicians to give feedback on standards for consideration and improvement.
  3. Ensure work plans are on track and delivered on time.
  4. Provide oversight of committees and working groups to achieve project outcomes, including preparation of meeting papers and presentations.
  5. Lead, mentor and manage staff to produce guidance and materials, managing workload, performance and development opportunities.
  6. Coordinate, prepare and review complex briefings and documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in implementation of comprehensive care and communicating for safety standards.
  • High-level understanding of safety and quality standards and cultures of safety.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies and standards.
