About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting nurses and hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties, working as part of the healthcare team, and practicing in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nurses or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties
- Work as part of the healthcare team; practice in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice parameters
- Assess patients using therapeutic skills
- Provide recommendations to specialist treatment programs based on their diagnosis
- Answer patient/visitor/customer enquiries
Requirements
- Certificate III/IV (from an approved training provider) in Community and Health Services, Personal Care
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital
- Minimum 1 year's experience in the acute setting
- Demonstrated practice according to evidence-based nursing and latest contemporary practices in nursing
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Flexibility with shift allocations, timing
