Aquatics Team Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Aquatics Team Manager to join our team at the Wagga Wagga City Council. As a key member of our leisure and fitness industry team, you will be responsible for managing the Aquatics team and services, ensuring a safe, clean, and hygienic environment for patrons and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Aquatics team and services, collaborating with the Oasis Operations Officer to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Manage the Learn to Swim team, working with the Learn to Swim Team Leader to deliver safe and structured programs.
  • Coordinate with the Oasis Programs Supervisor to manage recreation and aquatic programs, staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Develop and review operation documents, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Research and identify aquatic recreation programs to meet customer needs and provide alternative income streams.
  • Work with the Manager Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre and Oasis Programs Supervisor to develop and coordinate promotions to maximize participation in Aquatics programming.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all aquatics users.
  • Manage Aquatics services, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Assist with monitoring plant and equipment operation to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Manage Aquatic operations, including staff recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering, and supervision.
  • Monitor Aquatic operational budgets, driving alternative revenue streams and controlling casual labor expenditure.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in people management, budget control, WHS, conflict resolution, and development of sport and recreational programs.
  • Qualifications relevant to the role, such as a Certificate III or IV in Aquatics and Community Recreation, Diploma of Sport and Recreation Management, or equivalent.
  • Current certificates in Aquatic Operations, Supervision, and Management, or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid.
  • NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics (INF) Course (desirable).
  • RLSSA Swim Teacher or Swim Teacher Infant and Toddler (desirable).
