The Role

This Procurement Specialist will partner with key stakeholders across various business units to lead end-to-end strategic procurement processes. The successful candidate will ensure both commercial and regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic sourcing and cost-saving activities for goods and services.
  • Deliver successful end-to-end tender processes within allotted timeframes.
  • Guide business units on the end-to-end procurement process and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Take a key role in complex negotiations and contract finalisation processes.
  • Lead contract performance and strategic relationship management activities to deliver safe, effective, and efficient outcomes for the group.
  • Assist in the updating and maintenance of the contract register database.
  • Drive positive financial outcomes and win-win situations during negotiations and contract design.
  • Support and assist in the improvements of the procurement framework and other business policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience conducting pre-award procurement activities such as supplier sourcing, tendering, evaluations, etc.
  • Experience understanding, negotiating, and drafting contracts.
  • Previous experience working within the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in a technical, legal, and/or procurement discipline and further training in the supply chain/procurement industry are highly regarded.
