About the Role

The Major Developments Planning Manager is a key position within Unitywater, responsible for planning the provision of services to support the expansion of our water and sewerage networks to meet population growth. This includes establishing necessary infrastructure agreements to ensure equitable assignment of cost and responsibility for delivery of required infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning of long-term infrastructure to service our rapidly growing region.
  • Develop and implement strategies for sustainability and delivery of liveable communities on the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions.
  • Collaborate with Councils, State government, and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality emerging communities.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of water infrastructure agreements to mitigate financial risk while providing reasonable terms for timely progression of planned development.
  • Work with the Planning and Engineering teams to deliver Concept and Detailed Business Cases to support investment in projects.
About You

  • Engineering degree with significant experience within a utilities or an infrastructure environment, and a focus on asset planning.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure planning, demand forecasting, and water industry regulatory environment.
  • Previous experience leading a team is preferable, and the ability to identify where technical, social, or commercial processes need improvement and implement what is required to ensure outcomes are delivered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with experience in liaising and consulting at Board and Executive level, and with Developers and other internal and external stakeholders.
