Job Opportunity: Therapeutic Court Lawyer

 

As a Therapeutic Court Lawyer, you will provide high-quality legal services to individuals impacted by drugs and alcohol in a therapeutic court setting. This includes conducting complex casework, advocating, and providing legal information and advice to clients.

You will also assist with mentoring and training other staff, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and strategies related to drug court services. This role is based at our Melbourne office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting complex casework and advocating for clients
  • Providing legal information and advice to individuals impacted by drugs and alcohol
  • Assisting with mentoring and training other staff
  • Contributing to policy and strategy development

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience dealing with people with drug and alcohol dependency and/or mental illness
  • Strong knowledge and experience in criminal law
  • High-level interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • A current Australian practicing certificate entitling you to practice in Victoria
