Operations & Maintenance Lead

The Operations & Maintenance Lead will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of complex systems and facilities. This role requires a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

This position involves directing work groups and/or units engaged in activities associated with planning, construction, maintenance, operation, repair, renovation, alteration, and demolition of buildings, structures, equipment, machinery, and other facilities.

The Operations & Maintenance Lead will obtain, evaluate, and negotiate bids from outside engineering, architectural, and construction firms. They will establish schedules and budgetary controls, allocate expenditures, and oversee coordination of major construction activities requiring integration with engineering, architectural, contracts, and government agencies.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with contract specifications, insurance requirements, and local building codes. The Operations & Maintenance Lead will review and approve architectural/engineering drawings and participate in department strategic planning process to ensure appropriate skills are available when needed.

They will develop and maintain relationships with other engineering organizations to keep abreast of developments in allied fields. Additionally, they will interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to organizational policies and corporate initiatives. Furthermore, the Operations & Maintenance Lead will establish and maintain quality systems and instill values and ethics within the team.

Key responsibilities also include hiring employees, managing dismissals, conducting performance evaluations, planning and approving salary increases, managing discipline, and documenting problem employee situations. The Operations & Maintenance Lead will establish department and individual performance goals, review employees' performance against goals, champion, coach, and motivate team members, develop and train subordinates, and perform all other duties as assigned.
