Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Policy Leadership and Collaboration Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with disabled people, Māori, and their families to inform policy changes and uphold the Enabling Good Lives vision.

This role requires empathy and understanding of the unique experiences of disabled people. A senior leader with sound knowledge of disability policy, the machinery of Government, risk management, commissioning services, and managing at the political interface is needed for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership skills, experience working in a tripartite relationship, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of disability policy, the machinery of Government, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies that promote the rights and well-being of disabled people.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage risks and ensure effective service commissioning.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders.
Requirements
  • Suitable candidates should be disabled people or have credibility and trust with disabled people.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience working in a tripartite relationship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep understanding of disability policy, the machinery of Government, and risk management.
