Strategic Leader for Public Sector Finance

Troocoo is seeking a strategic leader with a passion for public sector finance and corporate governance to join a local organisation as a Service Manager Corporate Finance.

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering and leading financial services across:

  • Corporate taxation advisory and compliance
  • Financial reporting and reconciliations (monthly and annual)
  • Capital and asset accounting
  • Treasury management functions
Key Responsibilities

You will manage a high-performing team, driving service excellence and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and organisational policies, while creating a safe, equitable and rewarding workplace.

  • Manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Lead the Corporate Finance Unit including staff development, performance management, and fostering a positive team culture.
  • Oversee capitalisation, asset accounting, and the development and review of the Long Term Asset Management Plan.
  • Provide expert taxation advice and ensure accurate compliance and lodgement of tax returns.
  • Support treasury management, balancing debt and investment portfolios, and forecasting cash flows.
  • Build effective internal partnerships and deliver tailored financial insights that support decision-making.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives within the Financial Services division and drive continuous service improvements.
Requirements

The successful candidate will require:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, corporate taxation, treasury, and asset management.
  • Proven leadership in team development, service delivery and performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in statutory reporting and asset accounting within a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools relevant to medium-to-large or government organisations.
Mandatory Requirements

The candidate must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Accounting.
  • Membership with CPA Australia or an equivalent professional body.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying Australian Accounting Standards.
